Baldwin S-12

The famous steam locomotive manufacturer is well known for it's production of the GG1 electric also make diesel switchers for the railroads. Our model represents the familiar car body of the Baldwin line. Almost 1000 produced for most major railroads from 1945 to 1956. The S-12 model being built from 1951 to 1956. Rated at 1200 hp, many are still in use today, a favorite of industries, being reliable and easy to repair.

As in the standard tradition of American Models, the Baldwin S-12 features finely cut body and details, windows and an operating headlight. Die cast frame, steel wheels, operating couplers and a three position electronic reverse unit comes with all AC hi-rail versions. Traditional American Models efficient flywheel drive system is standard.

Low switcher speed units are available for 2-60 mph speeds, and standard AC units are shipped with normal speed gearing of 100 mph.

Reversed units are available for "back to back" operation. This model is shipped completely assembled, tested and ready to run.
